METRO Wholesale Store at Meerut records overwhelming success within first month of launch

Meerut 4th May, 2018: METRO Wholesale’s Distribution Center (Store) at Meerut has received tremendous success within the first month of its launch. The 55,000 square feet facility has exceeded expectations by crossing over 37,000 registrations since its opening. The new store that has enabled employment opportunities for over 500 youth in Meerut and the adjoining regions, has witnessed footfall of over 10000 enthusiastic customers within the first fortnight of its launch.

The vast assortment of products and commodities in the store has attracted visitors not only from Meerut, but also neighboring markets such as Baghpat, Barut, Muzzafarnagar, Khataouli, Sardhana, Hapur and Mawana. The registered customers at the Meerut store include over 5000 kirana stores apart from Hotel & Restaurant owners, Caterers (HORECA) and self-employed professionals

The assortment of fresh food in particular has received great response from customers and continues to drive growth for the store. The fresh produce for the store is being sourced directly from the local farmers by METRO to strengthen the agrarian eco-system in the region.

Recently, METRO also opened its first collection center for fruits and vegetables to cater to the North Zone, in Panipat. The METRO Platform collects produce from over 150 farmers in the 25 surrounding villages of Panipat and caters to the 6 METRO wholesale stores in the North Zone, including the Meerut store.
