METRO Cash & Carry inaugurates a 3rd wholesale outlet in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 23, 2015: Five years after it opened its Uppal wholesale distribution centre in the city of Hyderabad, METRO Cash & Carry - India’s most trusted wholesaler - is all set to inaugurate its 3rd distribution centre in Hyderabad, in the Shamshabad area located right off Airport Road.  The new Shamshabad outlet will be METRO’s 17th in the country, and will open its doors to customers on June 25, 2015.  Earlier last year, METRO announced its plans to expand its network of distribution centres to about 50 by 2020.

METRO has built a deep and lasting relationship with customers in Hyderabad through its two existing outlets in Moosapet and Uppal.  Reaffirming its bond with Hyderabad, METRO has made an investment of close to INR 70 crores with its brand new wholesale centre in Shamshabad, which is spread across approximately 60,000 square feet and offers free parking for all its business customers.  The new outlet will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

The company’s latest outlet aims to serve small and mid-sized traders, caterers, restaurants and hotels in the Shamshabad area, addressing all their buying needs.  At the new wholesale centre, METRO’s business customers will find an assortment that is tailored especially for their needs, with unmatched prices on fresh and dry groceries such as rice, pulses and spices, fresh produce sourced directly from Telangana farmers, a range of food and non-food products sourced from local suppliers as well as a live bakery that will cater to the needs of local resturants, small offices and traders.

With a decade of experience serving professional customers in 12 cities, METRO Cash & Carry has devised specialized wholesale solutions for its customer base, including special professional packs, on-floor assistance, product expertise, one-to-one customer service and delivery solutions through third-party partners.

The workforce at the new Hyderabad outlet has undergone in-depth and rigorous on-the-job training in the various operational aspects of the wholesale business, and is all set to serve the demands of the clientele of Shamshabad.
