Bangalore, June 21, 2013: The 3rd annual Young Chefs’ Culinary Challenge concluded with the announcement of the winners of this prestigious competition in Bangalore. Chef XXX of ABC hotel bagged the first place, and was awarded a gold medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 71,000. Close on his heels at second place were Chef YYY of ABC Hotel, who won the silver medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 61,000, and Chef ZZZ of ABC Hotel in third place with the bronze medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 51,000. All winners received attractive METRO hampers and the exclusive opportunity to be featured in Food Lovers magazine, while other participants received certificates of participation.
Presented by the Food Lovers Club in partnership with METRO Wholesale, the Young Culinary Chefs’ Culinary Challenge 2013 is seen as an increasingly prestigious platform for talented and upcoming chefs from across hotels and restaurants in the city, to demonstrate their expertise in the professional kitchen. This year’s Challenge saw 34 of the most talented and upcoming chefs in the city display their culinary skills by producing some of the finest gourmet dishes for Bangalore foodies. The 34 participants underwent a series of challenges and eliminations before the nine best of the lot reached the final round.
The results were declared at a gala evening attended by celebrity chefs and gourmands from across Bangalore.
