Jaipur, May 2, 2012: METRO Cash & Carry, the global leader in self-service business-to-business wholesale, today announced its entry into Rajasthan with the launch of its first wholesale distribution centre in the state, at Vishwakarma Industrial Area in Jaipur from May 3, 2012.
The Jaipur wholesale centre will cater to a wide customer base which includes small and large kiranas, hotels, restaurant and caterers as well as entrepreneurs, small businesses, companies and offices. At METRO, customers can expect to find everything to meet their requirements including fresh and dry groceries, electronics, apparels, household, furnishings, white goods and branded items under one roof, attractively priced at low wholesale rates.

METRO’s drive towards customer-centricity focuses on building deep and productive customer relationships. METRO regularly organises METRO Super Trader program for small and mid-sized traders in every city it is present in. METRO has invested approximately Rs. 70 crore in the single level Jaipur centre spread over 50,000 sq ft. The Jaipur centre will be the company’s eleventh in India and will be open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm for the convenience of its business customers.
Contributing to the growth of the local economy, METRO has already created 300 jobs (150 direct and 150 indirect) in the state with this centre. METRO has a keen focus on training its employees and the entire Jaipur workforce has undergone on-the-job training at various METRO Centres across India.
METRO also plans to launch its farmer collection centre in Chomu soon to procure fruits and vegetables directly from farmers in and around Jaipur.
